Group name: Positive Psychology 1 : The Science of Happiness.

Group aims:  we will meet,  learn about and consider various theories and practices concerned with how we can improve our  happiness and wellbeing.

Not to be confused with "Positive Thinking" ,  Positive Psychology is a sub-field of  Psychological Science. Advice is not anecdotal, evidence of effectiveness will be obtained by looking at findings of modern scientific research

No previous knowledge is required.

Q: Are you interested in using your energy to build strengths instead of repairing weaknesses?

Q: What would your life look like if you had a scientifically proven toolkit to help deal with stress and build resilience?

Q: Are you interesting in developing strategies to improve your own level of happiness?

This group is open to anyone interested in exploring these questions (and many more).

We draw upon a range of sources both ancient and modern, presented in a way that is accessible to all. We draw from a variety of resources, including  online materials, short video presentations, references to theoretical studies and of course the experiences of group members. There will be lots of discussion within a safe, respectful and caring group.

Group meetings: Monthly in-person meetings in our u3a meeting room 3 - now a relaxing, welcoming space with comfortable armchairs and an informal layout, which is the perfect environment for this group.
