Working Less? Start Living More byJoining Newcastle u3a!
Thank you for your interest in finding out more about becoming a member of Newcastle u3a. Membership is open to anyone who is no longer in full-time employment, and who would like get more out of life by learning new things, sharing their knowledge and making new friends. If you fit this criteria, then we would be delighted to welcome you. There is no lower or upper age limit and you do not have to be a resident of Newcastle upon Tyne.
Prices
Membership costs just £60 per year, unless you are already a member of another u3a in which case you may join as an Affiliate Member for just £51 per year. The membership fee includes receiving a monthly mailing by e-mail at the start of each month. If you would like to receive this monthly mailing by post, the annual membership fee is £73.
Membership runs from 1 April to 31 March. However, new members who wish to join in February or March are not required to pay again until the following April. So new members who join in February effectively get 14 months membership for the price of 12.
For members who join between October and January, the price for half a year membership is £32, or £26 for Affiliate membership.
Renewals can be paid from 1st February each year and are due before 1st April.
Attendance at most group meetings carries a small additional charge. For example, there is a £2 attendance charge for all meetings at our Pink Lane hub, including refreshments. The attendance charge at our monthly meeting at Brunswick Hall is £3.

If you are interested in joining but would like to sample a few activities before committing, you may attend up to 5 “taster” sessions, namely:
- 1 Brunswick Hall monthly meeting with a guest speaker
- 1 Group meeting in our Adamson House meeting rooms e.g. Family History
- 1 Group meeting in a venue other than in Adamson House e.g. French Conversation or Table Tennis
- 1 Group meeting by Zoom (currently only available for a few groups).
- 1 Drop In Session. This is a meet and greet session, with refreshments, for members and non-members on 1st Thursday of the month, 1330-1500pm in our Adamson House meeting rooms.
