Group aimsWould you enjoy discussing poetry in a friendly supportive group?

Once a month we meet to talk and read about a poetry related topic which has been chosen by common agreement at the previous meeting. Sometimes we focus on the life and work of one particular poet. Recent examples have included Emily Dickinson and Edmund Lear. Alternatively, sometimes we look at poems by several different poets on a chosen theme, such as 'celebration' or 'the railways'. No previous knowledge of poetry is required – just bring along your enthusiasm! All members are invited to contribute at every meeting and are welcome, if they wish, to occasionally give a short talk on a theme of their choice. But of course, you would also be welcome to attend and just listen!

From time to time, we also visit local venues which have a poetry connection, as an alternative to meeting in Pink Lane. Some photographs of a recent example are shown below.

Group meetings: usually monthly in-person in our u3a meeting rooms. Also occasional trips out to other venues.

More information: Please contact our Group Leader, Caroline White, by email above. We'd love to hear from you and meet you.
