Group name: Philosophy 3.

Group aims: to meet and enjoy a convivial discussion on all things philosophical.

The format for the meetings is a short introduction to a philosophical topic, followed by general discussion - which is a fun way to investigate some interesting ideas. Some notes are provided in advance of each session, although no prior knowledge is required - just an open mind and an interest in finding out more about this fascinating subject.

What is philosophy? ('love of wisdom' in Ancient Greek) is a systematic study of general and fundamental questions concerning topics like existence, reason, knowledge, value, mind, and language. It is a rational and critical inquiry that reflects on its own methods and assumptions. (Wikipedia retrieved 10/10/2024).
