Group name: Philosophy 2.
Group aims: to meet and enjoy a convivial discussion on all things philosophical.
What is philosophy? ('love of wisdom' in Ancient Greek) is a systematic study of general and fundamental questions concerning topics like existence, reason, knowledge, value, mind, and language. It is a rational and critical inquiry that reflects on its own methods and assumptions. (Wikipedia retrieved 10/10/2024).
If you are interested in joining this group please contact the Group Leader. No past knowledge, skills, or experience of philosophy is needed - just an open and inquiring mind to encourage critical thinking, and a capacity to listen to and appreciate each others' points of view.
Members suggest and select a variety of topics.
Group meetings: Usually monthly in-person meetings in our Newcastle u3a meeting rooms. Zoom not available.
Please see our sister groups "Philosophy 1" & Philosophy 3" who follow the same programme.
More information: please contact our Group Leader, Nigel Collins, by email above.
