Group aims: To meet together and enjoy the fascination and creativity of model railways and their real-world counterparts. All welcome from beginner to expert. No previous knowledge or experience needed, just an interest or curiosity in understanding our train network and creating and enjoying model train layouts and tracks. We are a friendly informal bunch. Share you interest with like-minded enthusiasts.

All aboard! Topics such as why are so many people so passionate about model railways? How do I start and build my own models? Where can I visit model railways or full-size working railways or museums? Who made the first models? Can I do a behind-the-scenes visit at Newcastle Central Station? .....

How do you make the locomotive Olympics? Train really hard!!

Group meetings: usually monthly in-person meetings in our Newcastle u3a meeting rooms. No Zoom.
