Group name: Italian Culture.
Group aims: To explore and enjoy all things Italian (e.g. places, food, language, music, art, holidays in Italy) in a relaxed informal setting speaking mostly in English.
All members are encouraged to give short presentations on subjects of their choosing and we chat informally about that. Mostly in English with an occasional Italian word or two. You are welcome to come, sit, enjoy refreshments and just listen.
Tea available but we also bring nibbles to share. All welcome, no previous experience, knowledge or Italian language is needed. We learn together, a good time is had by all.
Group events: usually monthly in-person in our Newcastle u3a meeting rooms.
Previous talks include: (Speriamo) "Garibaldi - His Life & Times"; "The Rise and Fall of Mussolini"; "I Crimini": Crime Writing in Italy"; "The British & Italy" - a love affair in literature"; "The White War" Italy's heroic contribution to WW1. "Italian folk dance". "Pinocchio"
