Group name: French Conversation.
Group aims: French language and culture for fun! We are an informal lively group who meet weekly to enjoy chatting in French for the full hour. We are mostly improvers/intermediate level so our group caters for all abilities above beginner. Like most u3a groups, we are self-programming. We are not a class and we do not teach.
Our group enables those who have some ability to speak French to practise their language skills within a friendly and supportive environment. New members typically say they have not used their French since long ago school days - but it soon comes flooding back and their confidence develops quickly. We chat about a wide range of topics - la vie, l'univers et tout.
Group meetings: in-person meeting, no Zoom, 1400-1500pm, every Monday (except bank holidays), usually in 1 Strawberry Lane, Newcastle NE1 4BX. Drinking water is always available, other drinks and snacks can be purchased from the café if you wish. All information for the group is shared via WhatsApp.
