Group aims: To meet and enjoy playing this famous board game. All welcome from beginner to expert. No previous knowledge or experience needed. We are a friendly informal bunch.
Deceptively simple, with only 16 pieces for each player battling on an 8x8 board, yet so much variety and strategy. Will your king be checkmated and lose his head? Will one of your your humble pawns be crowned a queen? Please come along and have a go.
